1. Who we are
MAK AI Apps (“MAK AI Apps”, “we”, “us”) is a mobile app studio and publisher. We operate the website at makaiapps.com and publish mobile applications on Google Play and the Apple App Store. We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy, except where we process data on behalf of a client, in which case the client's own privacy policy applies.
If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your information, email us at afex@makaiapps.com.
2. Scope of this policy
This policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect personal information when you:
- visit makaiapps.com;
- contact us or send a project enquiry; and
- use a mobile app published under the MAK AI Apps developer name.
Some apps have an additional, app-specific privacy notice that describes features unique to that app. Where an app-specific notice exists, it is linked from the app's store listing and takes precedence for that app.
3. Information we collect on our website
Information you give us
When you use our contact form or email us, we receive the details you choose to share — typically your name, email address, company name, the type of project, an estimated budget and your message. We use this only to respond to your enquiry, prepare a proposal and manage our relationship with you.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and the time of the request) to keep the site secure and working. These logs are kept for a short period and are not used to build profiles of visitors.
Cookies
Our website does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If we add privacy-friendly analytics in the future, we will update this policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first.
4. Information processed in our apps
We design our apps to collect as little personal information as possible and to process data on your device wherever practical. Depending on the app and the features you use, the following categories may be processed:
- Content you create or provide — for example photos, documents, recordings or entries you make in the app. Where possible this stays on your device. If a feature needs to send content to a server (for example, a cloud AI feature), the app tells you before it does so.
- Device and usage information — such as device model, operating-system version, app version, language, crash reports and anonymous feature-usage events, used to fix bugs and improve the app.
- Advertising identifiers — in apps that show ads, the device's advertising ID may be used by our advertising partners to serve and measure ads, subject to your device settings and consent choices.
- Purchase information — when you buy a subscription or in-app item, payment is handled entirely by Google Play or Apple. We receive confirmation of the purchase and its status, never your card details.
- Permissions — camera, microphone, photo library, location or Bluetooth access are requested only when a feature needs them, and you can withdraw them at any time in your device settings.
Each app's store listing includes Google Play “Data safety” and Apple “App Privacy” disclosures describing exactly what that app collects.
5. Third-party services we use
Our apps and website may use the following service providers, each of which processes data under its own privacy policy:
- Google AdMob (advertising) — how Google uses data
- Google Firebase (analytics, crash reporting, remote configuration) — Firebase privacy
- Google Play Billing and Apple App Store (purchases and subscriptions)
- RevenueCat (subscription management, where used) — RevenueCat privacy
- Website hosting and email providers, used to serve this site and deliver messages you send us.
In regions where consent is required for personalised advertising (including the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), our apps show a consent message powered by Google's User Messaging Platform before any personalised ads are served. You can change your choice from the app's settings.
6. Legal bases for processing
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: contract (to provide an app or service you've asked for), legitimate interests (to keep our services secure, fix problems and improve them, balanced against your rights), consent (for personalised advertising and any optional processing — which you can withdraw at any time) and legal obligation (where we must keep records by law).
7. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:
- with the service providers listed above, who process it on our behalf or under their own terms;
- if required by law, regulation or valid legal process; and
- as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case this policy will continue to protect your information.
8. How long we keep information
Enquiries and related correspondence are kept for as long as needed to respond and, if we work together, for the duration of the relationship plus any period required for legal or accounting purposes. App analytics and crash data are retained according to the default retention settings of the providers above. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
9. Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls and the security features of our providers to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify you and the relevant authorities of a breach where the law requires.
10. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal information, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. California residents have the right to know, delete and correct personal information and to opt out of its sale or sharing — we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising outside of the consented ad experiences described above.
To exercise any of these rights, email afex@makaiapps.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
You can also: reset or limit your advertising ID in your device settings; withdraw app permissions in your device settings; and change your ad-consent choice from within our apps.
11. Children's privacy
Our website and general-audience apps are not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If an app is designed for children, it follows Google Play's Families policies and Apple's Kids Category rules, and its app-specific notice explains how it handles data. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. International transfers
We and our providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where we transfer personal information from the EEA, UK or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services or the law change. We will post the new version on this page with a new “last updated” date and, for significant changes, give additional notice within our apps.
